November 5th is when the English remember a failed plot to blow up King James 1st and Parliament in 1605. Across the country bonfires are lit, fireworks let off and effigies of Guy Fawkes burned! Remember, remember, the 5th November as the poem goes….
Remember, remember the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot,
I see no reason,
Why gunpowder and treason,
Should ever be forgot!
