Britain has a wealth of slang, where it makes up a large part of the vocabulary and can vary massively according to where you are in the country.

Whilst in Bolivia I taught at a primary school in a relatively poor area of La Paz called Max Parades. The school had never had a volunteer before as the area was deemed too dangerous for outsiders – clearly I was seen as expendable!!
